Deckard, a blade runner, has to track down and terminate 4 replicants who hijacked a ship in space and have returned to earth seeking their maker. Trivia Dustin Hoffman was the original choice to play Deckard, although he wondered why he was asked to play a “macho character”. According to Ridley Scott, Hoffman was interested, but wanted to make it a whole different kind of character.
